Hutton Snellings knew from a young age that art was her calling. She began painting in high school and continued her study throughout her life, training her eye and emoting the inspiration she culled on her canvases.
Snellings has stayed loyal to her original style — a peaceful interplay between color, movement and a distinct layering technique — but continues to evolve her work. Despite her young age, her paintings are confident. High-end decorators were among her first clients, who lauded her tranquil work and eagerly commissioned her canvases to complete their discerning clients’ homes. From there, Snellings learned to take her clients surroundings into intimate consideration when completing commissions, which quickly put her work in demand.
“I love the moment when I see my work in a room for the first time, and I know that’s where it where it was meant to be,” She says.
Her rising profile soon led to a partnership with the highly regarded Jerry Pair showroom in both New York and the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC). Snellings continues to make a distinctive mark on the East Coast art landscape, showing at Neiman Marcus Lenox and now, Rumson Gifts & Home Furnishings in Buckhead. Additional events are currently being scheduled for Fall and Winter 2015/16, including the Trinity Art Show February 1-6, 2016.
As her art continues to mature, she stays true to her signature style – marking her work collectible both now and for years to come.
