This week I attended Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2016 at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta. It was my first time attending the event, which has been held for 24 years running, and I found it to be a wonderfully compelling evening. The fashion show & auction benefit two amazing causes–The Atlanta AIDS Fund and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. All money raised goes to fight AIDS and Breast Cancer in our community, providing screenings, treatment and counseling services in 13 counties.
From a fashion perspective, a variety of themes were presented including monochromatic looks and palates featuring lemon yellow, royal blue and red. Many of the pieces featured were oversized, and stated to be casual. But nothing about these clothes from designers in New York, London, Paris and Milan was casual in my book! Beautiful, but not casual… Of the trends presented, these photos represent my taste–which tends to include black, red & classic lines. Particularly when it comes to investment pieces, I am a tiger who can’t change my stripes!
As you might guess, the people watching was just as impressive as the clothing. Atlantans really stepped out in style! I had a great time with old friends & new including, Atlanta’s First Lady Sarah Elizabeth Reed. What a lovely lady! I also caught glimpses of my fitness ICON, Madison James, who looked absolutely stunning and Kim Zolciak of Atlanta Housewives fame, who looked fun and flashy in sequins!
A special thanks to my friends at The Tavern at Phipps for both the incredible food & the opportunity to attend Jeffrey Fashion Cares as your guest. This event was a dream come true for this amateur fashionista!
Cheers, Catherine McGahan
